About the Program

You Love Aromatherapy. Now What? The Helianthus School of Holistic Arts!

The Helianthus School is a leading online and virtual aromatherapy school. We provide a comprehensive educational program to become a confident aromatherapy practitioner. 

 Our curriculum includes up-to-date information on 65 essential oil profiles, essential oil chemistry, botany & taxonomy, applied aromatherapy, anatomy & physiology, and more!

 Our program is highly interactive, engaging, and up-to-date! Students gain clinical and professional knowledge in a virtual classroom setting in this empowering course, with practical hands-on experience. Courses are recognized and meet the certification requirements set by the Canadian Federation of Aromatherapists (CFA) to use the trademarked designation of CAHP® (Certified Aromatherapy Health Professional).

 


Aromatherapy is a therapeutic modality that uses essential oils to promote health and well-being. Using plants' aromatic and healing properties, Aromatherapy is an effective solution for promoting physical, mental, and emotional balance.

 We offer intensive, comprehensive training in aromatherapy. The curriculum is designed for advanced experience levels, but no pre-requisites are required. We offer additional aromatherapy courses beginning with Aromatherapy 101 if you feel that is more appropriate.

After successful completion you will:

  • Have comprehensive knowledge of essential oils and essential oil chemistry
  • Be proficient in creating therapeutic blends and produce a variety of personal aromatherapy products
  • Be proficient in conducting professional quality client consultations and assessment

Our class sizes are limited so that each student receives individualized mentoring throughout their coursework. In addition to our online courses, many students choose to take advantage of our hands-on workshops where they can learn by doing.

  • Is this a self paced course?

    The course is designed so students start together receiving bi-weekly (every two weeks) instruction. We find this type of instruction more engaging, as it provides students the opportunity to collaborate with fellow classmates with community support and accountability. Students have two years from the start date to complete the course and certification requirements.

  • What does the course include?

    The course includes live course instruction every two weeks, additional course videos, a 475+ page manual, Anatomy & Physiology course, one on one mentoring and exam fees.

  • Why are essential oils not included with the program?

    A lot of students who apply for the course already have a selection of essential oils. If a student wishes to purchase an essential oil starter kit, a couple of options are available (at an additional cost). There is also the opportunity to purchase a full class kit that includes everything students require to complete the in-class projects (not including case study materials).

  • How long is the course?

    Students have two years to complete the course requirements. Bi-weekly live classes will run September 20 until June 13, 2023 (no classes in December). Live classes will be Tuesday evenings via Zoom. One half Saturday per month will be dedicated to formulations + product making (available in-person and via Zoom).

Welcome to the Helianthus School of Holistic Arts! I’m Maria, a certified holistic health coach, and wellness practitioner. I am passionate about helping people live healthy lifestyles and helping them reach their goals. I have been certified as a wellness practitioner since 2014. I started with reflexology, and I quickly fell in love with it. It has led me to continue my journey in alternative holistic healing therapies, including Reflexology for the feet, hands, and face, Reiki, Aromatherapy Massage, Crystal Therapy, Indian Head Massage, and Holistic Health & Wellness Coaching, and much more! I am the founder and a Level 3 certified clinical aromatherapist with the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA) and a Certified Aromatherapy Health Practitioner with the Canadian Federation of Aromatherapists (CFA). I am excited to share my passion for wellness with you!
